Get Ready for a Monster Book Fair!
To prepare for our upcoming book fair November 16th-20th we will be reading and having fun with monsters! We'll read Peter Brown's book that is nominated for the North Carolina Children's Book Award Contest, and compare his style in this book with some of his other works.
Students will practice using the media center website to search for online monster books. Older students will continue to practice writing book reviews.
Students will have the opportunity to explore a number of centers while in the library to create monsters using Legos, digital drawing tools like TuxPaint or SketchUp, or paper and pencil. They will be able to view illustrator videos (see below) or use how-to-draw books to help them with their creations. Our goal will be to use their creations to help decorate for our book fair!
