Students at Davis Drive Elementary visit the school library  with their class as part of their specials rotation. During this 45 minute class time, students engage in lessons that help address the North Carolina Information and Technology Skills Essential Standards. Students at every grade level will learn how to conduct research, evaluate print and digital resources, use technology to create projects, and practice digital citizenship. Students will also have the opportunity to check out books during their specials time.

In addition, students are encouraged to visit the library to check out books any time throughout the school day with their teacher's permission.

We welcome parents in our library, and allow them to check out books as well! If you would like to volunteer in the library, let Mrs. Fiedler know via email at sfiedler@wcpss.net.  There is always lots to do!

About the Librarian

Hello - I am Stephanie Fiedler and I am the new School Library Media Coordinator at Davis Drive Elementary!  I  started teaching in Wake County in 1998, after earning my Masters in Library Science degree from the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill.  I am married and we have a fourteen year-old son, Lee, and a Danish exchange student, David, both of whom are obsessed with skateboarding!  We love to travel as a family and even lived in Slovakia!  When I am not travelling, I love to read about different cultures and learn new languages.  Please drop by the media center and say, "Hi!"  Happy reading!  :-)
